Mellieħa Bay (also written Għadira) is the largest sandy beach on Malta, a wide north-facing bay tucked between low cliffs at the northern tip of the island. The geometry is friendly: shallow sand for a hundred meters out, gentle slope, and natural shelter from the south and east — the bay opens just enough toward the northwest to receive the prevailing summer Majjistral breeze without taking on the open Mediterranean's full swell. For eFoiling, that means morning glass nearly every summer day and a light, predictable thermal in the afternoon — exactly the profile beginners need. Local rental operations run directly off the beach in season, and the resort town of Mellieħa above the bay supplies lodging, food, and dive-school crossover infrastructure. Malta's small size makes day-tripping easy: Comino's Blue Lagoon and the cliffs of Gozo are short hops by support boat. The strongest wind is the cool NE Gregale that arrives in autumn and winter and exposes Mellieħa's mouth — but May through October delivers warm sea and the friendly Majjistral that defines a Maltese summer.
