Lake Nahuel Huapi is one of South America's great inland water bodies — 530km2 of glacial water with seven distinct arms reaching back into the Andes. For eFoil riders the geography is generous: Bahia Lopez and Puerto Panuelo on the south shore offer protected, easily-launched flat water; the long Brazo Huemul and Brazo Tristeza arms give windless morning sessions with dramatic forested-mountain backdrops; the open central basin between Isla Victoria and the Llao Llao peninsula is where Patagonian thermals build to 15-25 knots most summer afternoons. Water is glacial-cold (12-16 C even in January-February peak summer) so a wetsuit is mandatory year-round, and afternoon weather can turn quickly — riders should plan around morning windows and watch for the classic Patagonian buildup. The lake sits entirely within Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi, administered by APN (Administracion de Parques Nacionales); commercial operators need APN concession authorization, but personal-use electric foils are accepted (combustion PWCs are restricted in several zones, including the Brazo Ultima Esperanza and Isla Victoria approaches). Best window is December through March.
