Nusa Dua's foiling water lives between Geger Beach and the Mengiat reef pass, a stretch of coast on Bali's southern Bukit peninsula where a wide fringing reef knocks down the open Indian Ocean swell that pummels Uluwatu just around the headland. Morning sessions before 10am are the catch — flat, glassy water inside the reef with depths of 2 to 4 meters — after which the southeast trade builds onshore chop. The Geger end has the easiest sand launch; the Sawangan end has more coral underfoot and is best left for confident foilers comfortable with reef navigation. April through October is the prime window, mirroring Sanur's dry-season pattern but with cleaner water because the peninsula's runoff is minimal. The reef pass off Pulau Peninsula (the small headland between the two halves of the bay) is a known hazard — outgoing tide accelerates through it and the coral edge is unforgiving. Resort beach security generally tolerates eFoils launched outside the swimming-buoy zones, but you're sharing the bay with banana-boat tow operators in the high season; keep visual contact with the speedboat lanes east of Nusa Dharma island.
