About this spot
Anse Volbert (locally Cote d'Or) is the calmest accessible bay on Praslin, with a fringing reef offshore that knocks down most ocean swell and produces a long, shallow, almost lake-like inside section. Wind is generally light here, which makes the spot a relaxed eFoil cruise rather than a wind-driven session — the small islet of Chauve Souris a few hundred meters offshore is a natural waypoint. Sub-15 kW eFoils are permitted under SMSA rules; commercial use requires SMSA vessel licensing. Stay clear of the central swim zones marked with buoys in front of the resort strip and respect the protected coral heads near the reef edge.
Typical conditions
Long north-facing bay on Praslin with reef-protected flat water and a generally light wind profile. Water 27-29 C, visibility consistently excellent.
