About this spot

Boracay's geography is the foiler's gift: a narrow island oriented north-south, with White Beach on the west catching sunset-side calm water through the Amihan (NE trade) season November to May, and Bulabog Beach on the east getting the same trade as cross-shore wind, which is why it has been the country's premier kite-surf and wing-foil beach for two decades. Foiling on White Beach is regulated under the post-2018 DENR rehabilitation rules: motorized water sports, including eFoils, are permitted only from the northernmost segment (Station 1, near Diniwid) and the southern Station 3 area — the central swim zone fronting Stations 1.5 through 2.5 is off-limits to engine-powered craft of any kind. Launch from the marked motorized-craft corridors and stay outside the swim-line buoys. Bulabog, on the east side, is the dedicated motorized and wind-sport beach. Trade winds blow 12-22 knots through the Amihan season, which makes it noisy but viable for downwind foil sessions and a great place to learn alongside kiters who already understand right-of-way etiquette. Bulabog has reef immediately offshore — the lagoon launch is sand to coral within 200m, so do not run a foil straight out without a brief from a local operator. The Habagat (SW monsoon) flips everything from June to October: Bulabog calms, White Beach gets onshore chop, and red-flag swim days become routine. There are at least three established eFoil operators on the island as of recent reporting, all running out of the Station 1 motorized-craft zone. DENR enforcement is active and penalties for violating the swim-zone boundaries are real — the 2018 closure was triggered by exactly this kind of regulatory creep. Use a permitted operator, wear the issued vest, and treat the buoy lines as hard limits.

Typical conditions

Two-coast island with reversing seasonal water — White Beach (west) glassy November-May, Bulabog (east) trade-windy through the same months for kite/foil. Sand bottom both sides, fringing reef offshore.
