Port Vila — Mele Bay
Mele Bay just west of Port Vila is Vanuatu's standard watersports launch — wide, sand-bottom, reef-protected and the most accessible eFoil setup in the country.

About this spot
Mele Bay sits just west of Port Vila on Efate and is the established launch for Vanuatu watersports of every kind, anchored by Hideaway Island and the long Mele/Pango beach run. The bay is wide and deep with reef-protected outer edges, so the inner half is flat-water sand-bottom terrain in the SE trade-wind dry season (May-October), and the trades blow cleanly side-shore in the afternoon. Vanuatu's Maritime Authority requires registration of motorized craft, and a small number of Port Vila-based watersports operators handle eFoil sessions and the licensing piece — going through one is the cleanest visitor path. November-April is the cyclone-risk wet season and water sports drop off accordingly.
Typical conditions
Wide protected bay west of Port Vila with a long sand beach, reef-protected outer edge and consistent SE trade-wind side-shore in the dry season.
