Resort-coast eFoil sessions launch from Bavaro and Cabeza de Toro, with reef-protected lagoons offering flat water for first-timers.

Punta Cana's 30km of east-facing beach is fronted almost continuously by a fringing reef that knocks down the Atlantic swell and creates long stretches of flat, waist-to-chest-deep water inside the lagoon. Most eFoil activity here is run through resort watersport concessions on Bavaro Beach and around Cabeza de Toro, where the inside-reef shallows are ideal for beginner board work. The reef itself sits 200-500m offshore depending on the section, so there's plenty of room to ride without crossing into the surf zone. Easterly trades blow 12-20 knots most of the year and pick up afternoons December through April, so morning sessions before 10am give the smoothest water. Watch for resort swim zones marked by buoys and the small-craft channels cut through the reef — boat traffic concentrates at those gaps. Hurricane season caution applies June through November, with the eastern tip of the DR exposed to anything tracking through the Mona Passage.
Long reef-fringed beach with steady easterly trades and generally flat inside-reef water. Resort-based watersport ops dominate access.
