Sheltered north-shore bay on St Thomas with calm water for learning, though watercraft must respect designated swim zones during park hours.

Magens Bay carves a deep, narrow U into the north coast of St Thomas, with steep green hillsides on three sides creating exceptional wind shelter from the prevailing easterly trades. The inner bay is almost always calm, and the long crescent of beach has been a USVI parks-managed property for decades. That park status is the key operational note for eFoil riders: motorized craft, including eFoils, are prohibited from the marked swim zone along the beach during park operating hours, and access is via the outer bay only. Most operators launch from outside the swim buoys near Peterborg Point or run charter-based sessions from boats anchored in the deeper water. Winter trade winds funnel over the ridge but the bay surface stays largely protected; mornings December through April offer the cleanest water. Swell from a strong north pulse can wrap into the bay and shut it down for a day or two, more common January-March. Hurricane season June-November carries the standard Caribbean caution.
