East Coast Park runs roughly 15 kilometers along Singapore's southeast shore, fronting the Singapore Strait. The water is sheltered (the strait has minimal swell), brown-turbid most of the time from sediment and shipping, and threaded with strong tidal currents that you must respect. The viable foiling zone is concentrated around the Singapore Wake Park lagoon and the marked water-sports area between Big Splash and Bedok Jetty — these zones are where MPA (Maritime and Port Authority) tolerates motorized recreational craft. Outside these zones, you are sharing water with anchored bunker-barges and live shipping lanes, which is not negotiable. MPA requires registration for motorized vessels; recent guidance has placed eFoils in a category that effectively requires either operator-club coverage or individual registration depending on power and use case — confirm current rules with the operator before riding. Conditions are usable year-round, with the monsoon transition months (April, October) the calmest. Visibility is genuinely poor and a fall in murky water with floating debris is the real local hazard — long-sleeve impact gear and an operator briefing on shipping-lane awareness are baseline requirements here.
