The Gold Coast offers two distinct foiling environments within a few kilometres. The Broadwater is a shallow, sheltered lagoon stretching from Southport to Jacobs Well, separated from the ocean by South Stradbroke Island. Flat water, warm temperatures and easy ramp access at Marine Stadium and Mariners Cove make it prime beginner territory. SE trade winds dominate from May through October at 12–20 kt, building cleanly across the afternoon. The ocean side at Surfers Paradise and Main Beach delivers consistent year-round swell from cyclone-driven E and SE pulses (December–April) as well as winter S groundswells. Foilers who handle ocean conditions ride the points at Burleigh Heads and Snapper Rocks, though those breaks are surfer-priority zones requiring strict etiquette. Queensland regulates eFoils as powered vessels under Maritime Safety Queensland — registration thresholds and lifejacket rules apply. The Broadwater is patrolled and busy with jet skis and tinnies; stay clear of swimming enclosures and the Wave Break Island channel.

Fliteboard's flagship Gold Coast operation runs from Marriott Marina in Surfers Paradise, offering 2-hour group and private lessons across the Broadwater canals plus a showroom and service desk. The site also hires Flitescooters and runs corporate sessions seven days a week.
eFoilGC runs private one-on-one foil tuition from Currumbin Basin on the southern Gold Coast, using two-way radio helmets and a quiver that includes Fliteboard and Lift hardware. Coach Vasco Vellez has logged more than a decade of foiling, and intermediate sessions sometimes shift to the Broadwater depending on conditions.
