Mikri Vigla is a low granite headland on Naxos's southwest coast that splits two of the most famous wind beaches in the Aegean. On the northern side, Limanakia faces the open Meltemi and serves up clean cross-onshore swell. On the southern side, the long sand stretch known locally as Sahara or Parthena sits in the lee of the headland and stays shallow and flat — the kind of butter water that makes foiling feel like cheating. The Meltemi here is uncannily reliable, blowing from late May to mid-September with a peak intensity from mid-July to mid-August. Mornings and late afternoons typically offer lighter, glassier windows; midday is full-on. A long-established cluster of windsurf, kite, and now eFoil schools operates directly off the headland, and the village of Mikri Vigla supplies rentals, food, and casual lodging within walking distance of the launch. Naxos itself is the largest of the Cyclades — easy ferry access from Athens and Paros, an airport, and dramatic mountain interior for off-water days. As a natural heir to Naxos's windsurf legacy, Mikri Vigla is one of the most rewarding eFoil destinations in the Mediterranean.
