The Bodrum peninsula extends west from the Turkish mainland into the Aegean opposite the Greek island of Kos, with a deeply scalloped coastline that produces dozens of distinct bays. Bodrum town sits on the south side around its Crusader-era castle; resort villages such as Gümüşlük, Yalıkavak, Türkbükü, and Akyarlar wrap the rest of the peninsula. The local wind story is the Imbat — a thermal sea breeze that builds most summer afternoons from the west to northwest, generally moderate and predictable enough to plan sessions around. Mornings are typically glass calm: a perfect eFoil window for crossing between bays or working the rocky tip near Akyarlar. When the Imbat is up, the lee shores around Türkbükü and Gümüşlük stay workable, while the southwestern beaches see meaningful chop. Bodrum's mega-yacht and gulet industry means launching support, fueling, and finding eFoil rental is straightforward. Bitez and Akyarlar host long-running windsurf schools that have begun adding foiling. June and September are the sweet spot — warm sea, full Imbat, lighter crowds than peak August.
